I’ve always been interested in self sufficiency; energy systems in particular. Our house was built in 1928 so it pre-dates the introduction of electric air-conditioning and passive heating and cooling elements in it’s design reflect that. My partner and I have been thinking about ways to restore features that occupants had hidden or removed over the years. I’m optimistic that reducing our environmental footprint is an opportunity to reconsider the intrinsic value in existing homes.

With a young family I am constantly working on ‘treading lightly’. I’m really conscious of my consuming habits, what’s happening out in the community, and not living life too quickly.
